Last thursday we went to the movies. With bags of over priced popcorn we waited anxiously for the commercials and previews to finish. The movie began and progressed to a very steady pace (more later).
It has been a good year for new releases and sequels. This the 2nd for the Transformers was no exception. I have been salivating over the previews since first aired and I was pleasantly surprised that the wait was worth it!
After being disappointed with Terminator Salvation’s ending I was ready for some true fun! Let’s make sure we understand what I just said - FUN!!! After all you can’t get to upset over a fairy tale or a Saturday morning cartoon.
After reading several reviews I personally feel this was an A+ but I am a old fart and not quite so critical as others. The movie was a tad long but with so much action I did not even notice. The running time is around 150 minutes.
I love the description from the official entrainment sites - Rated: PG-13 for intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, language, some crude and sexual material, and brief drug material.
Yes the movie kept you on the edge of your seat at times and yes it was intense to be sure. Oh so much testosterone it made the little boy in everyman and teenage boy drool with pleasure. And really that is the point right?
When I was growing up we called these popcorn movies. Not a lot of substance but lots and lots of action. The more action the better. But as I have watched the making of some of these hi action sci-fi movies and all the effort that goes into generating the graphics it truly is a work of art.
Think about it... you are mixing computer graphics on top of live action with real people and every move has to be choreographed like a stage play. Everything in perfect step. The timing oh my. And finally let’s not forget the cinematography. This was an epic movie and every photo had to be perfect and it was!
Yes this is an over active war movie with some intense sequences of sci-fi action violence, language, some crude and sexual material and I loved each and every minute. I can’t wait to go see it again!
